Pearly Everlasting

Natural History

Pearly Everlasting is a member of the Sunflower Family. The plant grows to 3 feet in height and has shiny, dark green, linear leaves that grow to 5 inches in length and clasp the stem of the plant. The plant typically grows along roads and in open forests along streams and in canyons at elevations between 4500 - 8500 feet.
 

The flowers of the Pearly Everlasting last a long time and are sometimes dried for use in floral arrangements.

Pearly Everlasting blooms between July - October and produces a cluster of white flowers that grow to 3/8 in width each.
